In the week preceding Labor Day, 2020, Specks Run, a tributary of Opequon Creek, was literally filled with construction drilling mud from an illegal dumping site from a Dominion Energy project in Virginia. Investigations of the subcontractors and circumstances are underway while mitigation efforts have commenced expeditiously under the supervision of the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection.
