Discover some of this site’s marsh wildflowers and typical late summer birds. Get your questions answered about this special place — Winchester’s first formally protected nature preserve. Our mile-long walk will be on a level and paved sunny path, on a boardwalk, and on a short soggy stretch of unpaved trail. Dress for sunny or rainy weather as appropriate. Bring water. Protect yourself from ticks and biting insects as needed.

More than 300 plant species and more than 200 bird species have been documented here. The Preserve was dedicated in 2003, and TOW was one of the key organizations involved in its initial protection.
